For one reason or another I've always been fascinated by the French language, even if I or most artists still prefer the English language.
The Misz (the young man DIY project I had with my pal Dries Dekocker) also flirted a lot with Molière's language (sometimes serious, sometimes very nonsensical - we never spoke French that well...).
For this piece, we were inspired by the work of the French poet Paul Verlaine. The lyrics to this track include his poem 'Rendez-Vous' (1868). On my first trip to Paris in 1982, I had bought his 'Oevres Libres', a small kind of pornographic book with explicit poems and 'pointes sèches' drawings. I still treasure it here in my studio.
